Aussie Bernedoodle
We know what you may be thinking... What the heck is an Aussie Bernedoodle?! The Aussie Bernedoodle is a mix of the Poodle, Bernese and Australian Shepherd. Typically "Australian Mountain Doodles" is a mix of an Aussiedoodle and Bernedoodle which means multigenerational doodles. At Dreamdoods, we have Aussie Bernedoodles as first generation doodles and proud to be the first Canadian breeder to do this. This is why we prefer to call them "Aussie Bernedoodles". We love this path due to its uniqueness in maintaining the integrity of all three breeds as well as being able to see the breeds interact in puppy's traits. We also have them as second generation (F1B - Poodle + F1 Aussie Bernedoodles). Below is the expected traits of puppies of path 1.
Path 1 - One parent is a mix of an Australian Shepherd and Bernese Mountain Dog and the other a purebred Poodle.
This path produces a first-generation (F1) Australian Mountain Doodle, which is 25% Australian Shepherd, 25% Bernese Mountain Dog, and 50% Poodle. The benefits of this path are that the puppies are more likely to have a low-shedding and hypoallergenic coat, as they inherit more genes from the Poodle parent. They may also have a higher intelligence and trainability, as both the Poodle and the Australian Shepherd are known for their smarts. The characteristics and traits of this path are that the puppies may have a sturdy and athletic build, with a thick, wavy or curly coat that can come in a variety of colors. They may have a broad head with floppy ears and round expressive eyes. They may also have a playful, energetic, intelligent, and affectionate temperament, as they inherit the best qualities of all three parent breeds.

Aussiebernedoodles are a color packed hybrid thanks to their Australian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle ancestry. Aussiebernedoodles can have a striking resemblance to Aussiedoodles and Bernedoodles alike. There is truly no way to predict the exact markings even with good knowledge of the color traits the parents carry because of all the colors at play.
Most of our Aussiebernedoodles will be Tri coloured however, you can expect coats to be expressed in merle, phantom, brindle and sometimes tuxedo but most importantly you can expect beauty in color! When it comes to fur texture and appearance it will depend on the doodle generation / amount of poodle. For example a second generation Aussiebernedoodle will have more a more curly coat texture and look.
